Privacy policy

Short version: we collect your email address, whatever Stripe needs to take a payment, and the Instagram data needed to run the analysis you ask for — nothing else. We don't sell any of it, we don't run advertising trackers, and the Chrome extension never reads anything on an Instagram page except the URL, to know whose profile you're on.

What we collect

• Email address — when you sign in or subscribe. Used for magic-link sign-in and to service your subscription. We don't store a password; sign-in is a one-time link sent to your inbox.
• Payment details — handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card number. Stripe's own privacy policy governs that data.
• Instagram data — publicly available profile and reel data (handle, follower count, captions, view/like/comment counts, thumbnails, post dates) for accounts you look up or track, fetched through a third-party Instagram data provider. We never ask for your Instagram password and never access anything private on your account.
• What you save and track — the reels you bookmark and the accounts you choose to track are stored against your account so they're there next time you sign in, on the web or in the extension.
• Access tokens — if you connect the Chrome extension or an AI assistant (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, etc.) over MCP, we issue a token scoped to your account. We store a hash of it, not the token itself, and you can revoke any token from your dashboard at any time.

The Chrome extension, specifically

The extension's content script reads only the current tab's URL on instagram.com — to know whose profile is open — never the page's content, your DOM, or anything you type there. It sends that handle to our API with your access token to fetch the ranking, and stores that token in Chrome's local extension storage on your device, never synced or sent anywhere except to our API. It doesn't run on any site other than instagram.com and beunskippable.co, and it doesn't track your browsing elsewhere.

Connecting an AI assistant (MCP)

If you choose to connect an assistant, it can read the same account data you can see on your dashboard — outliers, topics, and account analyses — using the token you generated for it. Nothing is shared with an assistant unless you generate and hand it a token yourself, and revoking the token cuts off access immediately.

What we don't do

• We do not sell or rent your data.
• We do not run advertising or cross-site tracking pixels.
• We do not email you things you did not ask for.

Who we share it with

Only the processors needed to run the service: Stripe (payments), our Instagram data provider (fetching public account and reel data), our email provider (sign-in links and account notices), and our hosting provider. Each handles data on our instructions and only for that purpose. An AI assistant you've connected sees your account data only because you gave it a token — that's your choice, not something we initiate.

How long we keep it

Account and subscription records for as long as your account is active, plus the period we're required to retain financial records. Saved reels and tracked accounts until you remove them or close your account. Cached Instagram data is refreshed periodically and isn't kept indefinitely once an account is no longer tracked by anyone.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email sal@beunskippable.co and we'll action it within 30 days. Every email we send has a one-click unsubscribe, and every access token can be revoked yourself, instantly, from your dashboard.

Children

Unskippable isn't directed at children and we don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll update the date at the top and, for material changes, email active subscribers before it takes effect.
