Questions

Is my image uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything happens in your browser — there's no server involved in this tool at all. Close the tab and it's gone.
Why does the Explore crop matter so much?
Explore is where people who don't follow you see you. It's a square, it's small, and it's competing with thirty other squares. A cover that only reads at full size loses there.
How accurate are the crops?
Close approximations of Instagram's current layouts, not published specifications. Use it to catch obvious problems — text getting sliced, faces cut in half — rather than to place things to the pixel.
What size should a reel cover be?
Author at 1080×1920 (9:16), but design so the important part survives a centre square crop. The safest area is the middle third, slightly above centre.
Why is text at the bottom a problem?
In the Reels player, the bottom fifth carries the caption and your handle, and the right edge carries the like, comment and share buttons. Anything you put there gets covered.
