Does that audience actually care?

Follower count tells you almost nothing. Engagement rate tells you whether anyone is paying attention — and we benchmark it against accounts the same size, because 2% means very different things at 5,000 followers and 500,000.

Questions

How is the rate calculated?
(Average likes + average comments) ÷ followers, across the most recent public reels. It's the standard method brands and agencies use.
What's a good engagement rate?
It depends entirely on size. Under 10K, 3%+ is healthy. 10K–100K, 2%+. 100K–1M, 1.5%+. Over 1M, 1%+. Engagement falls as accounts grow — that's normal, not failure.
Why only reels?
Because reels are where reach happens now. A rate calculated over old photo posts tells you about a different algorithm.
Can I check accounts that aren't mine?
Any public account. This is the fastest way to sanity-check an influencer before paying them — bought followers show up immediately as a collapsed rate.
Does it work on private accounts?
No. There's no public data to measure.
My rate is low. Now what?
Low engagement usually means one of two things: the audience isn't the one you want, or your hooks aren't earning the watch. Unskippable is built for the second problem.
